The "majority" of the Algerians "do not reject the principle of the presidential election," said Tuesday in Algiers Minister of Communication, Spokesman of the government, Hassane Rabehi.
Rabehi made this statement on the sidelines of the opening of the 2019/2020 regular parliamentary session at the Council of the Nation, emphasizing the importance of dialogue to prepare this milestone. "We definitely need dialogue to enable us to agree on programme and hold democratic elections," he said.
The minister added that the Algerian government and state "totally adhere to the wishes of the majority of Algerians", stressing the "sincere and complete" willingness of the military institution to support this process.
