“We must preserve the public interest, especially as our country requires a convergence of views and a combination of efforts in this particular step of its history,” Rebahi told APS on the sidelines of an inspection visit to the headquarters of the regional directorate of Algeria Press Service (APS) agency.
On this occasion, the minister welcomed the agency’s efforts and “commitment to serious work and news release in real time.”
“The Government will ensure adequate conditions for the promotion of journalism so that reporters fulfill their duty effectively and seriously,” said the minister.
Stressing the importance of media, Rabehi stated that “citizens want to receive news in real time because the current programmes cultivate them and focus on their needs.”
“In addition to giving the sector with a fresh impetus, we seek to provide equipment so that all regions benefit from their own radio stations and TV channels,” promised the minister.
During his two-day working and inspection visit to Ouargla, Rabehi is accompanied by a delegation composed of directors general of Algeria Press Service (APS), Algerian Television, the Algeria television broadcasting cooperation (TDA), the Central Printing House and the National Radio.
