Salim Rebahi took office on Sunday, in Algiers, as general manager of the Public Television Company to replace Lotfi Cheriet, dismissed from his duties.
Presiding over the opening ceremony, Minister of Communication and Government spokesperson Hassan Rabehi said that this installation "will ensure regular functioning of State institutions.”
The public television is “currently facing challenges that require a broad consultation aimed at enhancing its performance to meet the TV audience goals,” added the minister.
The upcoming stage necessitates further commitment and vigilance to ensuring and strengthening common denominators between Algerian people, maintaining the country’s stability, reinforcing institutions as well as recognizing freedom of expression,” he concluded.
